Puerto Vallarta • 2027 • Limited cohort
Come experience the kind of learning you want to make possible for others.
The Authentic Educator Retreat is a small, place-based professional experience for educators and school leaders ready to reconnect with purpose, learn with a remarkable community, and turn lived experience into new possibilities for their work.
Waitlist members will receive the dates, itinerary, pricing, inclusions, and early registration opportunity before the public launch.

This is not a conference in a resort.
Puerto Vallarta will become part of the curriculum. Participants will move through the city and surrounding region, learning with local people, places, practices, ecosystems, stories, and questions. Each experience will be selected because it helps educators examine authentic learning—not because it fills an itinerary.
The retreat will balance shared experience with reflection, dialogue, design, and time to make meaning. Participants will not leave with a borrowed program to copy. They will leave with stronger questions, useful relationships, renewed professional clarity, and ideas they can adapt to their own communities.
The Four Dimensions in practice
01
Authentic Self
Step outside the pace and expectations of ordinary professional life. Revisit what you value, what is sustaining or depleting you, what strengths and experiences you bring, and who you are becoming as an educator or leader.
02
Authentic Connection
Build real relationships within a small cohort and learn with local practitioners, community members, creators, experts, and people whose knowledge is inseparable from this place.
03
Authentic Experiences
Encounter Puerto Vallarta through purposeful, active learning. Investigate, listen, make, move, question, reflect, and respond to contexts that cannot be reproduced in a hotel meeting room.
04
Authentic Impact
Consider what the experience changes within you and what you will carry back. Translate insight into a practical commitment, design direction, or contribution relevant to your learners, colleagues, institution, or community.

What the retreat may include
- Place-based learning with local practitioners and community partners
- Coastal, ecological, cultural, creative, or enterprise-focused experiences
- Facilitated work with the Four Dimensions of Authentic Learning™
- Reflection and professional-purpose practices
- Collaborative curriculum and experience design
- Small-group dialogue and peer feedback
- Time to connect experience to a real challenge from your own context
- A final commitment, prototype, or next-step plan
These are program directions, not a promised itinerary. Partners, sites, and logistics will be confirmed before registration opens.
Who it is for
This retreat may be a strong fit if you are:
- An educator seeking renewal that leads back to meaningful practice
- A school or curriculum leader working to deepen authentic, experiential, place-based, or community-connected learning
- A professional-learning leader interested in more human and consequential adult learning
- Part of a school team that wants a shared experience before beginning deeper design work
- Ready to participate actively, reflect honestly, and learn from people beyond your usual professional circle
You do not need to work at a particular type of school or arrive with an existing project. You should arrive willing to engage with the cohort, the place, and the questions the experience raises.
Intentionally small
The retreat will be designed for a limited cohort rather than a large conference audience. A smaller group makes it possible to build trust, access community settings responsibly, adapt to what emerges, and protect the reflective quality of the experience.
Joining the waitlist does not require a commitment to attend. It ensures that you receive the complete details and first opportunity to register when the inaugural 2027 retreat is announced.
For schools and sponsoring institutions
Schools may sponsor an individual educator, leadership participant, or small team. Institutional participation can also be connected to follow-up professional learning, curriculum design, or a facilitated implementation conversation after the retreat.
